Hepatitis and Glyconutrients

Hepatitis can be caused by viruses, excessive and chronic consumption of alcohol, ingestion of environmental toxins, or by prolonged use of some prescription or over-the-counter medications. It is an inflammation of the liver. When it is caused by a virus, the virus may enter the body via a facial-oral route such as contaminated food or water, via body secretions such as blood transfusions, contaminated needles or other sharp objects, sexual contact, and during childbirth.

Hepatitis B and C are both contracted through body secretions. Hepatitis B can cause chronic active hepatitis which can lead to liver cancer. Other forms of hepatitis are hepatitis D, E and G, all of which are rare. Hepatitis D has a very high mortality rate.

For people who have hepatitis glyconutrients can offer relief. Glyconutrients have been shown to optimize the production of interferons where they are needed. When interferons are produced by the body they are released in smaller quantities than in interferon drug treatment for hepatitis. Though the quantities are smaller they are far more effective because they are released right where they are needed, and when they are needed. Drug interferons induce massive non-specific immune stimulation.

Small but impressive studies on glyconutrients and hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis have been conducted. Gluconutrients may help the liver recover by boosting adenosine triphosphate, the energy stored in the cells for immediate use.

For all people not just those with hepatitis, glyconutrients form the basic cellular language of all cells. Cells require adequate amounts of glyconutrients to allow cells to communicate 'correctly'. These nutrients are known to improve the immune system function, organ function and improve basic body physiology. If cells cannot communicate correctly they cannot function correctly or stay healthy. Glyconutrients for cell communication are pivotal no matter what other supplements you decide to take.
