N-acetylglucosamine

Glucosamine, a metabolic product of N-acetylglucosamine, helps repair cartilage, decreases pain and inflammation, and increases range of motion in osteoarthritis. Glucosamine may also help repair the mucosal lining defensive barrier called the glycosaminoglycan layer (GAG) layer. Defects in this layer have been implicated in Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and interstitial cystitis.
