ADD/ADHD, Ambrotose and Glyconutrients
Attention deficit disorder (ADD) involves a persistent pattern of inattention or impulsivity. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) adds a level of hyperactivity to the other symptoms of ADD in which the behaviour is more frequent and severe than in other children the same age ie hyperactivity inappropriate for the child's age.
Through research there is growing evidence that one of the primary causes of increased symptoms of ADD/ADHD is a lack of communication within the brain. Since the brain controls the rest of the body, if it can't communicate effectively with the rest of the body, the body cannot function properly. If the body/brain are given the nutrients to enable them to communicate effectively many health problems can be rectified.
Dr Steve Nugent reports that there have been two studies on glyconutritionals, such as Ambrotose, with children diagnosed with ADHD. Both of these studies revealed that the number and severity of symptoms of ADHD, such as hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention, as well as oppositional defiance disorder symptoms and conduct disorder symptoms decreased with the addition of these glyconutritional supplements to the children's diets.
